State Representative LaMar Lemmons, Jr. represents the 2nd House District. He serves in the House along with his son, LaMar Lemmons III, who represents the 3rd House District.
Serving his first term as a representative, Lemmons has fought for consumer protection against credit card fraud, raising the minimum wage to .75 an hour and a 20 percent auto insurance discount for Michigan drivers with good driving records.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Rep. Lemmons moved to Detroit in 1950. Lemmons is the father of four children; Lamar Lemmons, III being the oldest. He attended the Detroit Institute of Technology and is a member of the East Side Business Alliance.
